In search of Beauty

The digital compositions, or collages, are almost a combination of painting with photographs, combining parts of captured beauty together to try and find another, or trying to get to an essence of beauty through combining certain shared qualities such as a texture or colour.

Recently Jorien has developed her explorations of Identity in portraits. Selecting images that resonate with what is seen and understood of the subject in relationship to their environment, be it public or private. Jorien uses digital collage to portray an interpretation and perception of the identity of the subject.

In all her work Jorien strives to bring out the beauty, or the potential for beauty, she sees in a material, shape, colour and/or form and how it interacts with its environment.
